Applications Counselor Application

Thank you for your interest in being an applications counselor. We ask applications counselors to commit to processing one application a week. Each application takes about 10 hours and can take up to three weeks from start to finish. We will not ask you take on more than one at a time. Each application is assigned based on your availability.

The process:

1. Email applicant and set up a phone call to go over their application

2. (For adoption applications only) Email fosters to alert them of an application for their foster dog

3. Call or email personal references and vet references

4. (For adoption applications only) Set up a meeting between with the applicant and foster dog - you are not required to attend

5. (For adoption applications only) Set up a home visit if they decide to adopt - if you cannot do the home visit, we can usually find volunteers near the applicants home

6. Finalize adoption contact or foster agreement.
